Metropolitan life is so noisy that we usually find it impossible to hear God’s quiet, still voice. We need silence so that we can sort out the voices that are clamouring for our attention.
If you only do one thing to strengthen your spiritual life, we urge you to find or create sacred space.
The actual space where you find silence is important. If that space serves a dual or triple purpose, such as an office or work space, you may find it difficult to train your mind to listen. A space devoted to prayer, reflection and solitude is often crucial in deepening your spiritual walk.
Urban Sanctuary is a place of silence for the sojourner. It invites you to come and lay down your burdens and simply listen for God’s voice. We have rooms available for personal solitude, and offer several retreat options. Retreat packages include a personal retreat room, use of our 'classics' library, access to park grounds, complimentary beverages and an inspirational book as our gift for those who are interested in pursuing the discipline of solitude.
