Our Library - Reading by heart

Library ImageThere is much to be said about a great book. It can weave itself into the fabric of our thoughts and lives. Books change people.

Some people snoop in medicine cabinets – others in bookshelves. The bookshelves in the library at Urban Sanctuary can feel like a room full of best friends, some of whom you haven’t yet met. A number of these are very old friends, i.e. books that are out of print. Book a day and become friends with C.S. Lewis, David Benner, Frederick Buechner, Dallas Willard, Teresa of Avila, Henri Nouwen, Madame Guyon, Brennan Manning, G.K. Chesterton, and the complete works of Oswald Chambers and Larry Crabb.

If you prefer to call such reading “soul food,” here is a sample menu.
