Uniqueness of the Urban Institute

We are not aware that there are any other evangelical institutes of spiritual formation that are as experiential and relational as the Urban Institute. The environment is designed to be communal, reflective and experiential. We have taken time to test out our model through pilot projects, and we believe that each of the different processes that you will participate in can be transferred into a local church context.

Our hope is that you will emerge from your time in the Urban Institute with a maturity that will help you both stand firm and grow deeper in your faith through the rest of your life. We believe that, whatever your vocation or situation, God calls his people to a life of ministry and that the Body of Christ is designed to equip people in the area of character before they embark on God's calling. We have designed the Urban Institute to revolutionize the way that you experience sanctification, and our prayer is that you will be prepared to make a difference in your world – wherever God sends you.
